Robin's Nest Environmental Education, LLC

Thank you for visiting Robin's Nest Environmental Education.
Hands-on programs and live animal presentations are educational and fun. Extensive studies have shown that some of the best learning occurs when all of a child’s senses are being stimulated and they are having fun. Ages and grades are a recommendation, but all programs can be customized for content and duration according to age, location, area of study, or interest.  These programs are suitable for:
  • Academics:  An excellent enrichment for your science frameworks module, homeschool, or simply for a fun break that incorporates learning.  Extension activities as well as additional visits can be provided for a complete investigation.

  • Scouting: Programs to fulfill badge requirements for your den or pack meeting.

  • Birthday Parties:  Live programs that excite, entertain and educate.  The birthday child will receive special attention and unique photo opportunities.

  • Special Events:  Provide interest, entertainment, and stimulate attendance at your event.

Two of our favorite Ambassadors: Bella the Chinchilla and Joey the Sugar Glider

This is Bella at one day old on April 20, 2008 - unlike most rodents, chinchillas are born fully furred and with their eyes open ready to play! They are endangered in the wild. There are only 5,000 wild chinchillas left and they all live in the mountains of Chile. Half are protected on a reservation. Go to the Meet the Animals page to see Bella full grown.

Sugar Gliders are from Australia. They are often confused with being rodents due to the similarity to chipmunks or flying squirrels, however they are among the few species of marsupials. They are born in a pouch. Sugar Gliders can glide up to 150' with their special skin flap under their arms called a patigium.
